Bush Nominates Anti-Regulatory Zealot To Head ‘Super-Powerful’ Public Safety Office

Last year, President Bush nominated a man who is radically opposed to the U.N. to be our Ambassador to the U.N. As opposition mounted to his confirmation, Bush made an "emergency" appointment during Congressional recess. Now our U.N. Ambassador is John Bolton, a man who wrote scathing and contemptuous articles about the U.N. for a decade. Now, he nominates Susan Dudley, a major opponent of the government regulation of anything to our Public Safety Regulatory Office. Businesses don’t like regulation. It cuts profits. Susan Dudley is a prominent member of a Right Wing Think Tank that opposes regulation period. She’s one of the ones that debunks any scientific evidence of pollution as flawed science, while, at heart, she is an idealogue opposed to regulation as a matter of political conviction.

We sit around letting Karl Rove spin "liberals" and "democrats" as being in favor of big government and high taxes, all the while they spend us in debt and promote a culture of unequalled Congressional Corruption. But worse, they block any attempt to curb our wanton misuse of the environment by appointing idealogues rather than of experts to key positions in our government. Gay Marriage, Stem Cell Research, and Abortion are sham issues - a smokescreen to hide the takeover of government by big business. Deregulate everything and let the free market determine the quality of our air and our global temperature. It’s like putting Tony Soprano in charge of the criminal justice system…

In the history books, this era will be known as The Bush Years: The Rape of America
