In fact, Mr. Tenet says he doubts that W.M.D.’s were the principal cause of the United States’ decision to go to war in Iraq in the first place, that it was just “the public face that was put on it.” The real reason, he suggests, stemmed from “the administration’s largely unarticulated view that the democratic transformation of the Middle East through regime change in Iraq would be worth the price.”

Well, Mr. Tenet, you might ought to mention the other "largely unarticulated" motive for a "democratic transformation of the Middle East through regime change in Iraq" – or "worth the price" to whom.

And even though we’re all bleeding money at the pump who will be suprised when the big oil producers all show their largest profits once again? Yeah, SURE it wasn’t about oil and all of Bush and Cheney’s cronies. I’ll believe that when monkeys go flying out of ….well, you get the picture.

I think the only decent thing to do with his fancy freedom medal is to give it back to Bush. I don’t get it. Tenet doesn’t have a problem with Bush. What about the mess he made of the world when he went to war in Iraq? Tenet needs more soul searching. I don’t think he has gone further than his nose. Shame on him for letting this disasterous President think he could change the Middle East . Tenet is nothing but an enabler. He forgot to be an adviser instead of a buddy.
