many of his plans?…

Lawmakers warn of massive layoffs at Forest Service

President Bush’s 2009 budget plan would slash money for fire prevention and preparedness in the wake of last fall’s devastating wildfires in California, prompting an outcry from Democratic lawmakers who warned of massive layoffs at the Forest Service. Cuts to fire assistance grants would also limit funds available for rural fire departments trickling down to departments in Eastern Oregon. Bush did propose a slight increase in money to respond to fires.

The proposals were in Bush’s final, $3.1 trillion budget blueprint, which he presented to Congress on Monday. Majority Democrats quickly indicated that they wouldn’t go along with many of his plans…
The nightmare continues. He attacks Democrats for runaway spending and ‘earmarks’ – playing Conservative. Then he submits the largest budget every submitted, by a long shot. He chides people for running up the debt, but he wants to make his tax cuts permanent. Then he decides to give away money to boost the economy. And, by the way, he funds a hopeless war and resists any attempt to get out of it. Now, having destroyed the National Guard, he’s going to destroy the National Forest Service in a time when climate change is resulting in rampant wildfires.

Is he just not smart enough to see how ridiculous all of this is? or is he so out of things that he doesn’t see the consequences of what he’s doing? or does he even know what the people around him are doing? Congress isn’t going to go along with "many of his plans?" I question if putting the words BUSH and PLANS in the same sentence even makes sense. I’m beginning to think that the only right thing to do is refuse to pass his budget, let the country’s government collapse, then start over in 2009. Dealing with his messes seems worse than doing absolutely nothing at all to me…
