So, back when I was thinking about the new F.D.R. style W.P.A. with a focus on the infrastructure – putting people to work fixing it, singing Woody Guthrie songs, I neglected to get a patent on my idea. Then, a Conservative NYT op-ed columnist, David Brooks, suggested the same thing and I saw my chances for fame melting. Now, even what’s-his-name is talking about doing it. It must be so obvious that any fool can see that it’s the right thing to do [though I’d like it better if it were called the 1boringoldman plan]:
