1 Boring Old Man

There is speculation about why Governor Mark Sanford revealed his affair yesterday. Was it because his wife had thrown him out? Was he encouraged by "The Family," at "C Street," fellow Religious Right Congressmen who had apparently also been working with Senator John Ensign? The answer, it seems, is much more pedestrian. The State, South Carolina’s main newspaper, had been sent email between Sanford and his Argentine Lady in December. Apparently, Sanford didn’t know that. He got off of the plane in Atlanta, and to his surprise was met by a reporter from The State. He gave a bull-shit interview about an adventure trip, get out of the bubble. "When asked if he had been with anyone," he ended the interview. The paper called and told him about the emails, and by mid-afternoon, Sanford came clean. So, he came clean because he had to. Simple as that…
