Wasn’t that sweet? He called me “not boring.” Actually HE’s the one who’s not boring.

Aloha, Nardos. Have a great vacation. BigPharm and its minions in psychiatric “research” will be here when you get back, with plenty more opportunity for investigating.

I hate to “hijack” such a worthy blog, but allow me this one indulgence: there is currently a petition to the New York Times to allow Robert Whitaker to submit a reply to Peter Kramer’s recent opinion piece, “In Defense of Antidepressants,” which was only one side of the psychiatric story (it was a prominent psychiatrist’s story, so it was unsurprisingly rather biased towards the use of antidepressants). We feel it’s only fair and good journalistic practice to allow Whitaker to voice his opinion and research on the issue of antidepressant prescription and use.

Three links are below: one to the original NYT article in question, another to Whitaker’s response to the article he posted on his Psychology Today blog, and the final link to the petition if you wish to sign.

OK, now back to regularly scheduled boringoldman programming. And by the way, Mickey: have a restorative vacation, as I’m sure you’ll be plenty busy when you get back 🙂
