The CASPER Conference
Community Action on Suicide Prevention, Education, and Research
Dr. David Healy and Robert Whitaker

It’s almost three hours long, but worth the investment to hear these guys in person. Healy talks about suicidality with the antidepressants and Whitaker focuses on the long-term use of psychotropics.

Mickey — So glad you’re posting this. I was particularly excited to hear Whitaker talking about long-term side effects of SSRIs, in particular PSSD (at 2:17:21). He has just started to add the long-term sides as part of his lecture, and I’m so happy for that. It’s about time psychiatry is forced to acknowledge how awful and life-shattering these long-term side effects are.

In fact, let’s call a spade a spade here like Charles Whitfield did. These aren’t side effects — it’s TRAUMA.
