A comment this morning made me think. Yesterday, I was thinking about Fox News blaring from public televisions everywhere here in Red State Georgia where I live. But joyhollywood says Fox News blares from the public television sets in New Jersey, the bluest of states with Democratic Senators. Why is that?
That lead me to look up something else from yesterday after reading some Israeli newspapers talking about Bush’s hawkish speech there, with some who thought America wasn’t hawkish enough. I tried to look up the percentage of Jewish-Americans serving in our military. It’s hard to find, but the answer is very low [near zero] – certainly less than the percentage of Jewish Americans in the population. On the other hand, the percentage of Jewish American Bush supporters or Neoconservatives is way up there. Why is that?
And in the graph above of American deaths in Iraq per day for the duration of the war, why did we sit there for most of it letting our soldiers get blown up if a simple adjustment in troop levels could have been effective? And the counterpart graph of Iraqi civilians is the same shape, only on a massive scale? Why is that?
