what’s the deal?

I was lamenting the fact that all the public televisions here in red state georgia alway have Fox News running, thinking that it’s the price I pay living in a small blue enclave in a sea of red. But two people commented that their public T.V.’s have Fox on all the time, and they both live in very Blue States:
Seeing Fox News on every tv set in a store or therapy center, hospital and on last Monday the Animal Hospital in New Jersey really gets me upset…

I live in a blue state and we have 2 Democratic Senators. We voted for the other guy for president in 2000 and 2004 and despite those facts we have Foxs news on all the public sets constantly blaring anti democratic rubbish. With Bush having the lowest rating of any president since polling has been done on presidents, I would really like to know who is behind this channel fixing.
It’s FOX here too, in blue state OR.
Banks, Hospital, Airport…
I wonder why? It’s not that all business owners are Republicans or right-wing types [I hope]. Have they so effectively convinced everyone that CNN is "left wing?" Is there hanky-panky channel-fixing afoot? What’s the deal?

I’m going to start asking people who work at these places who choses the channel. Maybe the reason it’s on all the public tvs is that the people in charge think they need to be distracted with mindless stuff so that they don’t have to do any thinking and they can laugh at the humor being displayed by the comedy routines performed by Fox’s hosts.

We’re going to ask too. But in Georgia, we kind of know what the answer is going to be…
