Re: Proper Attire For The Temple Of Obama (“The Barackopolis”)Today, workers at Invesco Field are putting the final touches on the newest wonder of the modern political world — The Temple of Obama (“The Barackopolis”). It is upon this pulpit that Barack Obama will tomorrow night address thousands of screaming, adoring fans.
There may be some confusion among the press about the venue and appropriate dress code for Barack Obama’s big speech. To help out, we wanted to provide the following tips on appropriate attire. The toga may have gone out of style centuries ago, but after Obama’s temple speech tomorrow night, they’re sure to be flying off the racks.
Suggested Toga Styles:
The Nobleman: This toga is recommended for men. For celebrities and lobbyists, please add the red over toga. One should expect to see such stars as Ben Affleck dress in red robes, along with the lobbyists who fill Invesco Field’s skyboxes…
This is on johnmccain.com. It’s really kind of hard to imagine that such a thing would be on a Presidential candidate’s web site. In case it doesn’t make any sense to you, it’s about the "set" at Mile High Stadium where Obama will speak tonight.
Pre-emptive wars and pre-emptive mockery. I expect such things from Rush Limbaugh:
Night Three: Perjurer & Plagiarist
Data360: GDP Growth Rate Chart
Bush Years: Poverty & Unemployment Decline
Rove: Inflating Obama’s Record Will Not Work
ABC: Biden to Blame for Foreclosure Crisis?

It’s like the National Inquirer is running the Republican Campaign. The set is a bit pretentious to be sure, but that’s not the point. This stuff would roll out no matter what backdrop they chose. If they had no backdrop at all, it would be "pseudo-poverty." It takes a while to realize that it doesn’t matter what Obama or the Democrats do, there’s instant devaluation and mockery. On Leno, it’s funny. Here, it’s just nastiness…
It’s not just nastiness, it’s flat out lack of class. It’s what Hollywood and papparazzi do. This says a lot about John McCain and his sense of dignity and class. It seems that the concept of taking the high road has gone missing among the Republican party. It’s really unfortunate for the Republicans, because what I saw tonight from Barack Obama was a strong leader that is full of class, intelligence and strength. That isn’t something that low blows is going to work against.
What I realized is it’s time to roll up my sleeves and work for Obama’s campaign in whatever roll they need me in this “purple” state. This is too important for me to watch and think and wait. I”m never good at sitting around and this is no different.
