Governor’s Race Deal (R) 45% Barnes (D) 37% Monds (L) 5% Undecided 13%
The results showed former former Rep. Deal with 45 percent and former Governor Barnes with 37 percent. Libertarian candidate John Monds remained at 5 percent.13 percent are still undecided, a number that grew slightly from the last survey. The poll had a margin of error of plus or minus 5 percent. InsiderAdvantage CEO Matt Towery told Channel 2 political reporter Lori Geary that Barnes neds to change his message because attack ads are not resonating with voters."You’ve shown us the bad part of Nathan Deal. We’re taking a look at you, but you’re still a Democrat and you haven’t given us anything to vote for and I really think that’s what the Barnes campaign has to do now," Towery said…
It’s true. Barnes has overdone harping on Deal’s miserable finances. It’s also true that being a Democrat is only a notch above Cancer for a Georgia candidate. This is getting downright embarrassing…
I despair. The Repubs seem to have a lock on message control. Who would have thought that all of Deal’s financial problems could be turned into an asset — appealing to people who also have financial woes. Not that he’s a poor business man and has bad financial judgment, but that he has been brought low by the same tough times everybody else is experiencing. So he “knows their pain.”
