He just won’t let up. He’s determined to win every single battle, to never be told "No."I cannot for the life of me understand why he’s going to the wire for having these kinds of frankly unamerican, uncivilized trials for detainees. I don’t get why he’d go the distance for torture. I can’t see why he wants to ram Bolton down our throats. There are plenty of other conservatives for him to choose from. It doesn’t make any political sense, even if you agree with him ideologically [He sounds remarkably like Saddam Hussein in the docket saying, "I am still President of this country!"].
Apparently, when crossed, Bush has tantrums [from Hubris]:
Or this beauty:
“I don’t give a goddamn,” Bush retorted. “I’m the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way.” “Mr. President,” one aide in the meeting said. “There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution.” “Stop throwing the Constitution in my face,” Bush screamed back. “It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!” Capital Hill Blue |
I feel simultaneously horrified and sorry for him. He’s not only one of our worst enemies, he’s his own…
