the fog…

So, on election day, we headed north for a two day camping trip. Our planning was great. I wanted to miss the nail biting on election night. The days were, however, after the leaves had peaked, turned brown, and were carpeting the ground. It was also on day one of a two day rainstorm, with a thick fog covering the mountaintop where we camped. On the way there, the visibility was 25 or 30 feet.

It was actually fun, and by the time we heard about the election results, the news was getting good, and got even better. But when I looked back at the pictures we took, I had one of those symbolic thoughts people have from time to time. We went into the elections not being able to see where we were going.

And this was the view from the same mountain on the way home. And that’s how I feel. I mean some Terrorist might blow something up tomorrow, but I still would feel like we’ve got our view back. It feels like a clear day.
