When I posted this exhibit below, I missed the most salient part of it [pointed out to me by friend Ralph]. The top part is Libby writing what he wanted McClellan to say. The bottom was added by Cheney:

Not going to protect one staffer & sacrifice the guy the Pres that was asked to stick his neck in the meat grinder because of the incompetence of others.

The marked out piece, the Pres, is the part I missed:

I suspect he was going to write:

Not going to protect one staffer & sacrifice the guy the President asked to stick his neck in the meat grinder because of the incompetence of others.

but thought better of putting it down on paper [since Scott McClellan and the rest of us were to be kept in the dark about the President’s involvement].
