I was chasing down a few links and ended up on a right wing blog called powerline. One of the ads on the sidebar looked like this:

It was a link to a site sponsored by Progress for America called judgealito.com

Why did I even click on it? I asked myself. I think it was because the guy looked so angry. It’s like the ad was shouting that I, personally, was attacking Judge Alito not because of anything he’d ever done, but just because I’m a liberal who-knows-what? I never said a word about him. Honesy! But I’m kind of vulnerable in that spot. I believe that allowing oneself to be a reflex anything isn’t a good way to be. I sure don’t like it when people say "You liberals…" and I try not to say "You Republicans…" [not always successful at that one].

But, in this case, he’s correct. I am proud to say that I’ve finally reached the place with this Administration where I do oppose everything they do. I don’t need to read about Mr. Alito, and haven’t. If Bush is appointing him, it’s either because they went cedar chopping together or the guy is a Fundamentalist Christian Neofascist. I’m not bothering to look anymore.

I’ve reached the point with Mr. Bush to think that it is so unlikely that he will do anything except try to build on or solidify the harm he’s already done with his appointments that I’ve stopped even reading about his people. Whoever they are, they’re hanging around the wrong crowd. So here’s what I have to say to that angry young model in the ad,

"Saying ‘no’ is all we got right now. And we’re going to keep saying it until your guy W. is back under his rock. You’re completely correct and it’s going to keep happening. I hope your unborn children appreciate our efforts."

Unfortunately, it has become the watchword that if GW approves of someone – Must be something SERIOUSLY wrong with em.

and BTW, tis true, ya nevah want to read things like “Powerline” (I leave that to the *professionals* in this blog business to tackle these real evil morons and liars.)

    😀

    Karen,
I fear you think a bit too lghtly of Mickey’s talents. I haven’t been reading him that long, but have come to the realization that he is indeed “one of the *professionals*” and way more capable of “tackling these real evil morons and liars” than given credit for. Just because he’s new at the blog business and doesn’t get paid for what he writes… Well, he’s just able to put it so succintly that we neophytes have little to respond to/about/with. I’d strongly suggest those others in liberal blogdom read a bit more of what he has to say. It’s really worthwhile, as you apparently have found out based on your previous comments. Go, Mickey.
