Not being one who reads the right wing blogs, I naively said below, "Next step? ‘The Liberal Media is blowing this all out of proportion!’ " little knowing they were already saying it:
"Unfortunately, this is very bad news for the White House–and not just because of the inevitable late-night jokes that will inundate the airwaves over the next week. The Dems will exploit this accident to smear Cheney as incapable of being trusted, weak of mind, etc. The resignation rumors will fly again. And the biography of a man who has served this country so well and so honorably for so many years will be overshadowed by a single, ill-fated hunting mishap." – Michelle Malkin –
Spin ahead of counterspin.
One of the stories in this story is that we were looking for the Spin as soon as we heard about it – so used to the curveball in every story. Another story in the story is the report that the Secret Service wouldn’t let the Texas Rangers talk to Cheney. Another is that the White House didn’t announce the story themselves. Another is that the victim didn’t release a statement out of respect for Cheney. Respect for what?
And so it goes here in the "Land of the Free, and the Home of the Brave."
Now it sounds to me as if they are trying to blame the victim. They said that the man came up behind Cheney without announcing himself. I’m not a hunter but if he was behind Cheney, how did he get shot? A friend suggested that Cheney was swinging the gun around to follow a bird. It still doesn’t make sense to me.
cause it doesn’t make sense! Also hi!
