Last month, we took a jaunt to New Orleans for our 40th wedding anniversary [it’s where we went on our honeymoon]. It was combined with a drive down the Mississippi Coast [see a photojournal of our trip on 3oldmen.com].
As we listen to Bush’s pre-November hot air speeches, don’t forget his abysmal showing this time last year – failing to cut his vacation plans, leaving the response to the infamous Brownie, a credentialed show-horse judge.
What we saw ten months later was life-changing destruction everywhere. So Remember New Orleans in your charitable giving, and in your voting.
Bush seems to have forgotten easily.
Thanks for speaking up for New Orleans. We’re making progress, but when you start running the bases from the back of the parking lot, it takes a while to make it home. We will rebuild, but we’re going to need some help to build the levees we need to protect us from future storms. Hope the president is on our team.
Peace,
Tim
