Part I of an excellent [and scathing] chronology highlighting the two-pronged problem of Mr. Bush’s War in Iraq – a bad idea, that has been badly implemented. The article renders Mr. Cheney’s recent comments all the more absurd:

"It’s going to be a battle that will last for a very long time. It is absolutely essential that we stay the course."

The only reason to stay is to make Bush and Cheney look good, which is not going to happen. The military objectives [WMd’s, Regime Change] are long past. We’re now intervening in a Civil War that will rage whether we are there or not – a religious Civil War in which we have no preferance, no place, and no power…
