Bipartisanship: Warrantless Wiretapping, No Says Senate, Eavesdropping Bill Stalls in Committee – two reports on Specter’s bill that would legitimize the Unwaranted N.S.A. Wiretapping send good news. The bill hasn’t made it out of committee. Kudos to Sen. Russell Feingold, D-Wisconsin, who stopped it cold today. It’s great to read that the good fight goes on while the blogsphere has temporarily gotten detoured into a holy war with Disney over the coming made-up docudrama about 911. I hope they get it stopped, but I worry that it’s no time for the diversion. Movie-shmovie, our job is to macerate Bush’s attempt to marry the War in Iraq and the War on Terror. That’s the lie that matters. Disney’s lies are way down the list.
