Josh Marshall points to an Atlantic Monthly article, Endgaming the Terror War, that I’d missed. It’s an interview of one of their interviewers, James Fallows. Often, blog posts summarize articles, quoting a few things to get at the heart of the piece. I expect I’ll come back in a bit after digesting this one and try to do that, but I really think this one’s for reading. The Atlantic Monthly web access is for subscribers only, so if you’re not such a person, this issue [August] is plenty worth reading somewhere.
What this article is about is such a departure from what we’ve been reading that it’s a breath of fresh air. It’s about the War on Terror, as a success, and how to end it effectively as we pull out of Iraq. And the ideas of James Fallow are neither crazy nor irrational!
