I think these people [Republican Jewish Coalition] actually believe what they’re saying, but go to their site and read their policies. They buy the whole Bush Doctrine and the insanity that goes with it. I presume that they were sold on the idea that the Democrats would not support Israel, and are putting their allegiance to Israel above their belief in America. They see Lieberman as a "Pro-Israel Democrat" as opposed to who-knows-what?
What a terrible shame! They think they’re working their big single issue, Israel, but blind to what these people they’re supporting have done to their actual country [America] and to the Middle East [and their other country, Israel].
I read your web site with a heavy heart. I hadn’t realized that the ‘religious seduction’ of the Republicans had encompassed not only the Christians, but also the Jews. I certainly noticed that many of my Jewish friends had changed Parties, but it hadn’t occurred to me that it was a movement.
So, the Democrats are not ‘Pro-Israel’ anymore and that justifies supporting a Party that isn’t even ‘Pro-America?’ Pro-torture, Anti-Habeas Corpus, Anti-Bill of Rights, Anti-Judiciary, Pro-executive power. It’s called fascism – the rule of the powerful and it’s a powerful seduction. It was important to me that you marched with me here in the South in the Civil Rights days, it was important to me when you worked with me in the A.C.L.U., it was important to me when you opposed the Viet Nam War with me, and I learned humility when you supported the Labor and Poverty Movements. I’m sorry you were taken away, particularly that you were taken away by the kind of leaders that you, of all people, ought to see as dangerous. Your web site made me very sad. We miss you.
