Well, the Libby Trial this morning is only of interest for people who get off on legal harangues. What can be asked of Andrea Mitchell? Can Libby have evidence introduced for a memory defense [the "too busy to recall the truth" defense] if he doesn’t testify at all? They say they haven’t decided if he’s going to testify [which, by the way, I don’t believe]. The commenters are having some fun. I liked this one:
"It was explained in the Pincus thread as the Dahmer Coffee-Shop defense. Basically, its the defense that says that since Jeffrey Dahmer was a regular customer at a coffee shop, and he never cannibalized any of the coffee shop’s clients, he was innocent of any crime. It seems to be a hybrid of the ‘Chewbacca defense’ and the ‘bright shiny object’ defense."
So far, we’ve heard from Walter Pincus, Bob Woodward, and David Sanger. The gist of things is that we learned that Pincus’ source was Ari Fleischer [see Swopa Swoops], that they all won big Pulitzer Prizes [we knew that], and that Libby didn’t leak to them about Valerie Plame [the Dahmer Coffee-Shop defense]. Libby’s lawyers are kind of whiney and disrespectful [we knew that too].
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
