It feels like we’re playing with fire. Everyone’s waiting for the 2008 elections as if they aren’t over a year away – hoping that Bush et al don’t start a war with Iran, hoping there’s not some event that requires that we have a Military [because right now we don’t], hoping that the Republican Machine won’t take over the voting process again by 2008, hoping the economy doesn’t collapse in the face of the government’s corruption and incompetence, hoping… It’s not a good time to just be hoping things will work out. Those of us who grew up during the cold war spent our whole life under the threat of thermonuclear destruction. Now, after only a short respit, we’re forced to live with our fingers crossed again. Wake up Washington! This isn’t a game…
