I have been following the Bush Administration Approval Ratings on the same site for three years. When I looked today, I saw that it hadn’t been updated since mid-July. I was about to write the Dr. Ruggles to ask him to update it when I realized that the way he does it [plotting all the polls then compiling the 14 day average], he couldn’t even plot the indices because many of the recent numbers won’t even fit his graph. He’s going to have to rebuild his whole system to plot Bush’s plummeting numbers. But what’s hard for me is that this Administration is still able to hold us hostage because they planned so well, centralizing and consolidating their power over their six and a half years. Using block voting and the President’s veto power, the Democratic Majority has been stopped on the floor of Congress – though they’ve done better in the Committee Rooms. It’s hard work not to be discouraged these days, when the best "good news" one can come by is that Newt Gingrich isn’t running for President and Bush and Cheney haven’t bombed Iran today. But I guess we’ll take what we can get [This time last year, we were crossing our fingers about the mid-term elections]…
