Our Guide in Kenya a few months ago is a very interesting guy. He’s a college educated sociologist who has been a Photo-Safari Guide ever since they outlawed Big Game hunting [30 years ago]. Throughout our trip, he talked of the coming election, the tribal politics, the sociology of it all [a sociology of rampant poverty]. Here’s what his most recent email said:
WE ARE FINE ALTHOUGH THINGS ARE NOT GOOD. LOTS OF RIOTS, LOSS OF LIVES, DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTIES. I HOPE THAT GOD WILL HELP US TO COME OUT OF WHERE WE ARE NOW. THE COUNTRY IS BURNING. PRAY FOR US…JAMBO
