Obama has, at this point, won 11 states, of 22 in play. Worst-case scenario, he’s already won half. If he picks up Alaska, which I suspect he will, he wins the battle of the states. California is looking like it might head SUSA’s way, so that’ll be good news for Hillary. But the rest of the night is bleak. She didn’t exceed expectations anywhere. She lost states she led big in just a few weeks ago. She’s hurting for money. The calendar up ahead is tailor made for Obama. The momentum is there.
And hey, look at that — Obama just took the lead in Missouri. The rest of the counties are Hillary counties, so this might still swing back her way. But wow, did the morons who called this one early at MSNBC and Politico blew this one. Update: Never mind, Boone is out, it’s a college town, and Obama leads 61-36 with only a quarter in. Obama wins Missouri…
Interesting bias from
kos. No one is saying "huge night for Obama" anywhere else. Over at
No Quarter, Larry Johnson continues his love affair with Hillary with another
bash Obama piece. I guess I’m still "Bush Wacked." I am put off by candidate bashing, or even outright endorsing. I would vote for Gravel [I don’t even know who he is] over any Republican. There’s still a fear on the land that the Republicans can whip up another hate/sarcasm campaign like they’ve done during the Bush/Cheney/Rove years and reduce the Democratic Candidate to a laughing stock [Kerry for Example]. So, I cringe when Progressives, Liberals, or Democrats either attack or exclusively support their own. I want this to be about running against Bush and Cheney, and anyone who has been slightly associated with them. To me, all three of the Republican candidates embody some aspect of Bush and Cheney. I don’t think any of the Republicans are as crazy as the current Administration has been, but "not as crazy as" is no endorsement to me. This thing is about cleaning house, and I don’t want in-fighting, or policy wars, or anything else for that matter to get in the way of cleansing us of the blight of the last seven plus years. I’m afraid I still have
P.T.BC.D. [Post Traumatic Bush/Cheney Disorder]…
My older son and I had a conversation on Sunday that sounded very similar to your writing. I babysat for my granddaughter last night until he came home from work in NYC and he asked me if I had voted yet and I said yes and he smiled and said well I guess we’ve negated each others vote. I told him that I asked myself one question, who was most qualified? I really believe that to reverse some of the damage that Bush/Cheney have done, we have to have someone who knows how devious they are. Hillary does know. I liken Bush and Cheney to a cancer and the country needs the best doctor to help destroy the cancer. I might add that I think Obama will probably win the nomination with the momentum going his way.
