too little, too late…

It says what you think it says and actually already know to be true. The Bush Administration dramatically misrepresented the Intelligence just like you thought they were doing at the time. The Republican Senate held up this report and investigation for four years – just never got around to doing it. I read it because it was there, but I can give you two quick conclusions to take away. If you voted for Bush in 2000, it may have been for valid political ideological reasons. If you voted for Bush in 2004, shame on you. By then, he’d done enough to warrant impeachment already. And if you live in Georgia, shame on you if you ever voted for Saxby Chambliss, whose foolishness and "stooge-ness" comes through in the minority section of this report. He is unfit for office. Vote for anyone else in the coming November election [preferably my friend, Jim Martin, if he makes it through the Primaries].

My reaction is similar to Kieth Olbermann’s. This report is tragically late, simply ignored for years by the Republican Committee Chairman Pat Roberts – he was just too busy to do it. And it could’ve helped back then. It’s unlikely that Bush could have been reelected had we had this in 2004. It’s unlikely that Bush could’ve kept us in Iraq as long as he has. This Administration took us to Iraq to establish a permanent base in the Middle East. They did it by lying [as my next post will suggest they are continuing to do]. One of the reasons no one can figure out what to do now is that the damage has already been done. There’s no way to ever undo it or even repair it. All we can do is put a stop to making it worse and live with the consequences. This war will define our future for decades to come – The War of Lies…
