God makes soldiers…

It’s no secret that there is little love lost on the part of Democrats toward Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman…The key excerpts of Lieberman’s remarks:

• "Senator Obama is a gifted and eloquent young man who can do great things for our country in the years ahead. But eloquence is no substitute for a record — not in these tough times. In the Senate he has not reached across party lines to get anything significant done, nor has he been willing to take on powerful interest groups in the Democratic Party."
• "Especially at a time of war, we need a president we can count on to fight for what’s right for our country — not only when it is easy, but when it is hard. When others were silent, John McCain had the judgment to sound the alarm about the mistakes we were making in Iraq. When others wanted to retreat in defeat from the field of battle, when Barack Obama was voting to cut off funding for our troops on the ground, John McCain had the courage to stand against the tide of public opinion and support the surge and because of that, today, our troops are at last beginning to come home, not in failure, but in honor!"
• "My Democratic friends know all about John’s record of independence and accomplishment. Maybe that’s why some of them are spending so much time and so much money trying to convince voters that John McCain is someone else. I’m here, as a Democrat myself, to tell you: Don’t be fooled. God only made one John McCain, and he is his own man"…
I guess I’m one of the lucky ones. I didn’t like Lieberman back when he was a Democrat running with Gore. The only way he won in Connecticut in 96 was with Republican votes. Now, as an Independent, he’s been a total grandstander. He’s way beyond the "last straw" with me. Way beyond. Rather that spend wasted moments detailing the insignificance of Joe Lieberman, I’ll just mention one thing that he said that gets me, "God only made one John McCain, and he is his own man." That’s not right. God made thousands of John McCains. 58,000 of them died in Viet Nam for no reason at all – including some of my friends. Now, George Bush, Dick Cheney, and John McCain have sent an additional 4,152 of them to an un-necessary death in Iraq. We call them soldiers, and it’s our job to take care of them – ’cause God made them all

I can’t stand the man. Shame on him. He is the epitome of an opportunist. His wife Hadassah is a lobbist if my memory serves me right. He should be thrown out of his committee chairmenship the first chance the Democrats get the majority without him and President Obama is sworn into office.

He should’ve been thrown out when he was elected as an Independent in 2006…
