I just called and spoke to someone in rep. Kaptur’s DC office and I told her what a great speech she gave last night in the House of Representatives about the bailout.
Marcy rocks !!!! I was beginning to feel glad that Dodd and Frank seem to have a deal that might pass, so Senator McCain can get back to the campaign trail and the debate, which I know he’s eager to do.
I think he’s already sacrificed enough in Putting Country First, streaking to Washington (with a slight detour with Katie on TV, then with Lady Lynn de Rothschild somewhere to thank her for moving her Hillary support to him, and then to Bill Clinton’s forum in NY before he got Washington to fix the big mess “everyone else” has made and only he knows how to fix.
So far, it seems like the only one in DC who’s planning to include him in things is Bush’s photo op at the White House this afternoon. Lot of good that’ll do. It’ll just take the serious negotiators away from the task for a few hours.
And, by the way, on this circuitous streak to DC, he’s managed to give plenty of interviews attacking Obama as he talkes about suspending his political campaign to put country above politics.
I think the only base he missed touching in this wishful home run was Letterman, and that may have been fatal. He skewered him, not just in the usual way; he made mincemeat. That could well mark the moment at which Johnny Mc’s fate was sealed.
Anyway, thanks for the video. Marcy has me wanting to join the “wait a minute” crowd.
