When Michael Connell‘s plane crashed in mid-December, there was a rumbling suspicion that this was no simple accident. Connell has been the focus of the BradBlog, the Velvet Revolution, and Raw Story‘s Larisa Alexandrovna for some time. Connell was a computer Guru who set up many of the Republican Candidate’s web sites and the Swiftboat sites hosted in Chattanooga, though his companies were in Akron. He set up the system used for the Ohio election returns in 2004 and he hosted those RNC email accounts used by Rove and others – the ones that "lost" the email. Ohio was the election winner in 2004, and there were computer irregularities that suggested tampering. A whistle-blower, has testified that Connell didn’t do anything wrong, but was suspicious that he created a system that others manipulated. Connell, himself, iwa a devout Catholic and Pro-Lifer. Stories circulated that he was "ready to talk" and that he "had been threatened."
This is a very murky story. The truth could range from jt being ust a spurious conspiracy theory, to a story about he theft of the 2004 Presidential election, the willful destruction of Presidential records [email] to obstruct justice, and the murder of a key witness [Connell]. After the plane crash, there was a flurry of activity in the blogosphere but little in the media. There’s been silence now for almost a month. It’s good to see that Larisa and the Velvet Revolution are still on the case. There’s too much circumstantial stuff to let this one drop off of the radar. Whatever the truth, Michael Connell knew it, and now he’s dead. If he knew it, there were others who also know the truth. This could either be nothing or the biggest story of the century…
Michael Connell’s Crashed Plane
New information sheds more light on GOP IT guru’s tragic death
Connell on Re-ApproachAccording to a preliminary report authored by NTSB investigator Mitchell Gallo, Connell drifted left of course during a radio-vectored instrument approach to an Akron-Canton runway and air traffic controllers began to direct a re-approach. Before Connell could affect the re-approach, he declared an emergency and disappeared off radar.
The Akron-Canton Air Traffic Control declined to comment.
Gallo, however, told Raw Story that the declaration of emergency was not Connell’s final words. He would not elaborate but said that Connell did not describe the nature of the emergency. Neither the radar data nor tapes of the radio transmissions have been released by the authorities to the general public or the media.
The only known eyewitness to the crash spoke to the Ohio State Highway Patrol but wished to remain unnamed in press accounts. This witness told Raw Story in December that he heard a very loud small plane engine seconds before seeing the lights of the plane emerge from the clouds heading nearly straight down.
"When the lights disappeared and the engine stopped I anticipated a crash but a couple of seconds went by before I heard the engine again, enough time for me to think, ‘he’s pulled up,’" the witness said. Moments later he heard the crash and saw an orange glow some distance from where he’d last seen the lights of the rapidly descending plane.
Connell Investigation Intensifies
01/07/09Michael Connell’s death has opened up several new lines of investigation that may finally spark an in-depth scrutiny of his relationship with Karl Rove and the Bush family. VR has been contacted in recent days by several mainstream media outlets regarding the Connell case and we expect a big expose’ very soon that will touch on many aspects of this case that have only heretofore been reported by the independent online media and even things that have not yet been reported.
In addition, attorney Cliff Arnebeck, who leads the Ohio litigation looking into Rove’s criminal pattern of election manipulation, is planning to ask the United States Department of Justice to expand its investigation into the firing of US Attorneys to include that entire pattern of election manipulation. He believes that the US Attorney matter is but one part of the larger picture.
The NTSB issued a preliminary report about the Connell crash that could not determine the cause except to say that weather, icing and known mechanical problems were not in evidence. There have been many articles and videos published about the Connell crash over the past three weeks and they are being archived in the news section of www.RoveCyberGate.com.
Thank goodness someone is still pursuing this!
