As much as I share the hope that was so palpable today, my personal moment came when the helicopter took George Bush away. I had naively assumed that he would take this ride four years ago, but it didn’t work out as I planned. I never got over that election [probably never will.] At times, I go over the timeline, asking myself how people could not have known what they were doing.     My twin and the other 22% of the people who supported Bush were angry for all those who didn’t support him in the end. They don’t know how lucky they are that we held on to our democratic principles and waited 8 years to orderly vote into office a decent, intelligent, and principled man for all of the people.

    After george and laura boarded that helicopter, the wait for it to lift off felt interminable. I found myself shouting at the TV: “Go !. Go ! !. Go-ohhhh ! ! ! “
