There’s something very wrong with the Mark Souder story. One can’t help but look at the video and pictures of Mark Souder and Tracy Jackson without noticing that he’s something of a disheveled dweeb and that she’s a younger, attractive woman. She lives in Syracuse Indiana in a nice house with a pond with her husband and two sons. Husband, Brad Jackson, co-owns a respected Construction Firm with his brother, T.J. Jackson Construction, and he serves as the Chairman of the County Commission for Kosciusko County. He gives speeches to the local Rotary Club and has recently gotten his pilot’s license. There’s nothing in this story that would explain why his wife would have an affair with an evangelical nut case like Mark Souder. Apparently, their affair was becoming common knowledge in the area, to the point where Souder considered dropping out of the recent Congressional race. Obviously, stories like this have some back story that explains the discrepancies, but whatever it is, it sure doesn’t show from the outside. I currently live in a place the size of Syracuse and have learned that secrets don’t stay secret very long in a town this size – so I expect we’ll be reading it on some front page pretty soon.
