After some cosmetic work with a hand saw, the oil was pouring out in a steady stream.
Finally #4 [the cap] showed up. Then there was a three hour snafu while they untangled the hoses that ran to the cap…
Finally, it snailed its way towards to BOP [blow out preventor]…
Once they got it there, it leaned for a while, took a big breath…
then it hopped into place…
Oil is leaking from every pore, but it seems firmly in place. When they start pumping, we find out if it works or not. Who knows when that will be? Here‘s BP’s animation of what’s supposed to happen soon…
