December 5, 2010During an appearance on "Fox News Sunday," former House speaker Newt Gingrich [R-GA] said that he is "much more inclined to run" for president in 2012 than not run. Gingrich has been hinting for months that he may seek the presidency – though he has a history of making a lot of noise about running before deciding against it, as he did before the 2008 election. On Sunday, Gingrich said that after speaking with friends and colleagues, he is "more inclined to think it is doable." However, he said he would not make a decision until the "end of February or beginning of March." In recent months, Gingrich has raised his profile as a conservative bomb-thrower, frequently making inflammatory remarks about President Obama and congressional Democrats. He came under fire in September when he said the president holds a "Kenyan, anti-colonial" worldview, citing a controversial Forbes magazine piece that made the same argument.
Asked to analyze the field of likely GOP contenders, Gingrich described former Alaska governor Sarah Palin as "phenomenal in her own right." He said "structurally" former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney is the front-runner, while former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee leads the pack in terms of popularity. He described himself as "competitive"…
Mar 21, 2007NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said in Nashville that the personal lives of White House hopefuls shouldn’t become an issue in the 2008 campaign. Earlier this month Gingrich said he was seeking forgiveness for his own extramarital affair committed while he pursued President Clinton’s impeachment in the Monica Lewinsky scandal.
Since the announcement, Gingrich said he’s received a positive response from colleagues and others. He’s considering a race for the presidency. Gingrich was in Nashville Tuesday night to speak at Vanderbilt University.
What a pair: She Who Shall Not Be Named and now He Who Shall Not Be Named.
I have decided that I will not print their names, because they are two who do not need any more encouragement or publicity. But if they both wind up running, it’s going to strain my resolve. I guess I could go to acronyms: SWSNBN and HWSNBN.
If my contempt for both of these publicity hogs shows through, so be it.;
Only in America. And it is a wonderful country where shit still floats, cream rises to the top and the San Francisco Giants are Champions of the World in the only game that matters. I’m with you Ralph, the best thing we can do for the sake of our own individual sanities and the sake of the country is to marginalize these perfectly marginal characters.
Or is that the Texas Rangers?….no matter.
