However, my curiosity was peeked for a moment. Which "oppressive state 7,000 miles away" was he talking about? I guess Afghanistan. It was an immediate piece of spin, however. It’s a buzz-word for the Neoconservatives, "state." It comes from Laurie Mylroie, A.E.I., and the P.N.A.C.’s argument that only "states" can be behind terrorist attacks.
