Recently, I was writing about Dr. James Dobson<\/strong> of Focus on the Family<\/strong><\/font><\/a>:<\/div>\n

… James Dobson, on the other hand, operates Focus on the Family<\/strong> as a tax free religious organization. He’s established Focus on the Family Action<\/strong> as a taxable political entity. He always makes some disclaimer when he gets political, disavowing that he is speaking as head of Focus on the Family<\/strong>. Now take a look at his web site. Pray For Election Day<\/a><\/strong> and Dr. Dobson’s October Newsletter<\/a><\/strong> are both posted on the Focus on the Family<\/strong> web site, even though the latter has Focus on the Family Action<\/strong> in the pdf heading. Let’s face it, Focus on the Family is<\/u> a political organization and should be taxed<\/strong><\/font>. It’s really that simple. If Dobson wants to influence how our government is constituted, he needs to join the tax rolls with the rest of us. This sham has gone on long enough.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n
I heard from several of you, equally outraged at his obvious ploy of running his political organization as a tax-exempt religious organization. There is a simple process to report abuse of tax exempt status to the I.R.S. It’s I.R.S. Form 13909<\/strong>, easily filled out. So, I reported Dr. Dobson to the I.R.S. tonight, arguing that Focus on the Family<\/strong>‘s tax exempt status is a farce. You can do it too. Here are the web tools to write the I.R.S.:<\/div>\n
