What she&#8217;s seeing is sure hard to watch for all of us. The <strong>Washington Post<\/strong> has a really good <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-srv\/special\/world\/haiti-earthquake\/geoeye-image\/haiti-port-au-prince-624.html?hpid=topnews\"><strong><font color=\"#200020\">Satellite Graphic<\/font><\/strong><\/a> that shows the destruction. You can zoom down and see the problem &#8211; roads blocked by debris everywhere.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"520\" height=\"270\" border=\"1\" title=\"a road in Port-au-Prince\" alt=\"a road in Port-au-Prince\" src=\"http:\/\/1boringoldman.com\/images\/haiti06.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Last week, I was speculating that a lot of the current anger and blaming going on in American life is coming from a national grieving process over all the losses we experienced during the Bush years [<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/1boringoldman.com\/index.php\/2010\/01\/06\/american-lamentations\"><font color=\"#200020\">American Lamentations<\/font><\/a>&hellip;<\/strong>]. I think I&#8217;m right about that. Haiti is bringing up Katrina and 9\/11; the underwear bomber brings up 9\/11; the Financial Hearings bring up the 2008 Crash, the housing bubble; and so on. It&#8217;s like we can&#8217;t claw ourselves free and are spitting and spewing at anything that moves. <\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\">Truth is that mobilizing a relief effort of this magnitude is hard to do. It&#8217;s been three days and we&#8217;re close to being on top of it. That&#8217;s actually quite an accomplishment. Cool your heels, Diane.
