Had he thrown government money and resources at it, he would&#8217;ve been a big spender. If he didn&#8217;t, he was indifferent. Although there was no good course for him to follow, I think he probably did follow the wrong not good course. I expect it was the same situation FDR was in when in 1937, he prematurely shut down the New Deal and precipitated a Recession. But reasons aside, Obama made a mistake. Insisting that BP take responsibility looks like leaving us at the mercy of BP. I expect it will be an expensive miscall. At least that&#8217;s how it looks right now.
