I knew it was important, but I had no idea how important until it wasn&#8217;t there. Other blogs report the pharma stories [like Jack Friday at Pharmagossip], and I&#8217;m amazed that they&#8217;re so good at finding them. But nobody holds a candle to what Ed Silverman was able to do. Even though I was mainly interested in the ones that had to do with psychiatric drugs, I read most all of them and felt like that I knew about the industry as a whole. It was a rare moment that I ran across something that I didn&#8217;t read on <strong><font color=\"#004400\">Pharmalot<\/font><\/strong> first, or at the latest on the next day. <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">I expect most of us who have felt the loss of <strong><font color=\"#004400\">Pharmalot<\/font><\/strong> to keep up with things have had the same fantasy of finding some way that Ed could be independently supported to continue, but none of us have the required deep-pockets nor the right philanthropic connections. Rupert Murdoch, however, does:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"520\" border=\"0\" height=\"53\" src=\"http:\/\/1boringoldman.com\/images\/ed.gif\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Most of us were surprised, but Ed will still be Ed even with the WSJ. I look forward to seeing what he puts together there. Ed Silverman on the WSJ is better than no&nbsp;  Ed Silverman at all.
