Hubris: The Inside Story of Spin, Scandal, and the Selling of the Iraq War hasn’t come yet [release date October 3, 2006] so I’ve only read about it. Like many, I’m already balking at the "innocent gossip" theory of Richard Armitage’s leaking Plame’s identity, as if I know what the book says. So I’ll reserve judgement and just react to the raw data for now. Both Christy at Firedoglake and emptywheel at The Next Hurrah suggest that Novak had to have another source that told him the details of Plame’s job at the C.I.A. [and they’re both front-line Plame-ologists!].

But that aside, the title’s use of the word "hubris" is perfect. Of that, I’m already sure. And we all appreciate David Corn and Michael Isakoff running down "case zero."
