He&#8217;s determined to win every single battle, to never be told &quot;No.&quot;I cannot for the life of me understand why he&#8217;s going to the wire for having these kinds of frankly unamerican, uncivilized trials for detainees. I don&#8217;t get why he&#8217;d go the distance for torture. I can&#8217;t see why he wants to ram Bolton down our throats. There are plenty of other conservatives for him to choose from. It doesn&#8217;t make any political sense, even if you agree with him ideologically [He sounds remarkably like Saddam Hussein in the docket saying, &quot;I am still President of this country!&quot;].<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Apparently, when crossed, Bush has tantrums [from <strong>Hubris<\/strong>]:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"404\" height=\"129\" border=\"1\" src=\"http:\/\/1boringoldman.com\/images\/hubris_quote.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Or this beauty:<\/p>\n<table width=\"95%\" height=\"114\" border=\"0\" align=\"center\">\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p>&ldquo;I don&rsquo;t give a goddamn,&rdquo; Bush retorted. &ldquo;I&rsquo;m the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Mr. President,&rdquo; one aide in the meeting said. &ldquo;There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Stop throwing the Constitution in my face,&rdquo; Bush screamed back. &ldquo;It&rsquo;s just a goddamned piece of paper!&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.capitolhillblue.com\/artman\/publish\/article_7779.shtml\"><strong>Capital Hill Blue<\/strong><\/a><br \/>    Doug Thompson<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<p>I feel simultaneously horrified and sorry for him.
