Snow, Gonzales to speak alongside Coulter, Falwell<\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n

[Tony] Snow<\/strong> follows in the steps of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales<\/strong>, who raised eyebrows last month when he agreed to speak at the "Values Voter Summit" held by the controversial Family Research Council–an organization that has most recently been linked to a push to prosecute for hotel pornography.<\/p>\n

The Council, allied with James Dobson<\/strong>‘s Focus on the Family, American Family Association and Americans United to Preserve Marriage, is holding the event September 22-24, in Washington, D.C. Its aim is to organize efforts to mobilize conservative Christian voters in November. <\/p>\n

Snow is scheduled to speak the afternoon of the 22nd.<\/p>\n

The White House press secretary and United States Attorney General are set to share the event’s stage with Dobson, Jerry Falwell<\/strong>, Sean Hannity<\/strong>, Ann Coulter<\/strong>, Bill Bennett<\/strong> and embattled Senator George Allen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

All the nasties under the big tent! I wondered when the Religious Right was going to come out from under a rock and begin their mid-term push to get the fanatical Christians to the polls. There’s a real possibility that this strategy might backfire big time. It might wake up rational Christians to how much they’ve been used and abused – how much the basic tenets of their religion have been perverted by this Administration. Let’s hope Ann Coulter is at her most virulent.
