They dropped the charges against Cindy. I reckon everybody is sorry about it all. But I don’t want to drop it. The part about Cindy is clear. She’s being treated like an Enemy of the State.  Cindy Sheehan is no Enemy of the State! She’s a hero. As much of a hero as Coretta Scott King. But we all understand that.

Beverly Young is a hero too. If you haven’t read about her, please do. Here’s an article from last December.  She supports our troops for real. She writes her Congressman [husband], she writes the President, she worries about Veteran’s rights. She goes to the VA Hospital and helps with the injured. She goes a lot. Her husband and she presumabely support the war. I don’t. But I can respect what she is doing with her life. If she were my Congressman’s wife, I’d be proud.

Why was she removed for wearing an obviously patriotic T-Shirt? We know why Cindy got removed. But why Beverly Young? She was sitting six rows behind Laura Bush, who was decked out with photographable guests. Was it because it would mess up the photograph? I think so.

whitehouse.govEvery speech the President makes has a preselected audience, all supporters. What matters is appearance. All speeches are coordinated and orchestrated with other speeches. Bush, himself, is such a klutz with spontaneity, that it just doesn’t happen. They don’t let it happen. The world of Bush we see on T.V. is like a locked, gated, upper class Golf Community where everyone looks the same and wears the same stuff. They don’t wear T-Shirts there. You can’t golf in a shirt without a collar.

Beverly Young looked like what she is – an authentic person who is proud of what she’s doing for the desparately injured casualties of this catastrophic war. But she didn’t look right for the sanitized pictures. I hope she figures that out and what it means and raises holy hell about it.

That’s what Cindy is doing, and I’m proud of her too…

Update: A further piece of data, The ‘War on T-shirts’ continues.

I posted on Mrs. Young also. Those cops are lucky she didn’t punch them out. She’s a hoot and not afraid of man nor beast.

If she would run for the Senate, I’d vote for her. Better her than Harris or Nelson.
