This is not going to do. The way the Bush Administration fueled their war on Iraq was, first, to use the National Guard as if they were combat troops. The National Guard  is supposed to be for National Guarding. Katrina showed us the result. No one to respond. No National Guard.

Now they’re recalling Marines, some of whom have already served two or more combat tours of duty. The Bush Administration is afraid to reinstitute the draft. It might upset their constituents. Instead, they are guaranteeing that no one in their right mind will volunteer for Service, or the National Guard. They are destroying our military for no rational reason. The shortsightedness of this Administration is as feeble as its policies.

If you are involved with any political candidate, write them about this situation. There is absolutely no justification for it. This war is being run [and prolonged] by men who uniformly avoided military service themselves! They cannot be allowed to put people who have already served [and survived] in harm’s way again.
