I got to say, that was one amazing Press Conference. I was watching the "twitter feed" from South Carolina alongside of it. It said things like:
Was it a woman?Did he say a friend or a woman?I didn’t hear him say woman…
Then friend Al walked in with a stunned look on his face. Did he say "C Street?" [as in John Ensign lived on C Street in a christian compound called "the family"]. You could not make this stuff up if you tried. One thing for sure, Family Values are taking a big hit here in the post-Bush era.
Politics aside, I felt for the guy. He looks like he’s in a whole lot of hurt…
Besides everything else — family, his job as governor, public opinion, to say nothing of self-respect — he’s just seen his hopes of being president go down the tubes.
I’ll say!
